Benefits
Key benefits
Android Coverage
Reach the majority of smartphone users worldwide. Android holds over 72% global market share, and in many MENA countries — including Egypt (85%), Saudi Arabia (67%), and Iraq (92%) — Android dominance is even stronger. Without Google Wallet support, a loyalty program in these markets misses the bulk of the customer base. Revio ensures every customer can participate regardless of which phone they carry.
Instant Save
One-tap save to Google Wallet from any link, QR code, or web page. The customer sees a preview of the pass, taps "Save," and the loyalty card is added to their Google Wallet app. There is no sign-up form, no app installation, and no waiting. The process works identically on Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, and every other Android manufacturer.
Notifications
Push updates and reminders to customers through the Google Wallet pass. Notifications appear in the Android notification shade alongside other alerts, making them hard to miss. You can notify customers about new stamp earnings, remind them of pending rewards, or send promotional offers during slow hours. Because these notifications come through the wallet pass — not a third-party app — they are not subject to the aggressive battery optimization that Android applies to less-used apps.
Auto-Sync
Points and stamps update in real-time across all of the customer's Android devices. When a staff member scans a pass, the balance refreshes within seconds. If the customer has multiple devices signed into the same Google account (phone and tablet, for example), both show the updated balance. This real-time sync also means that if a customer resets their phone, their loyalty card and full balance restore automatically when they sign back into Google.
Process
How it works
Create Your Pass
When you design a pass in Revio, the Google Wallet version is generated automatically alongside the Apple Wallet version. Both use the same branding, colors, logo, and reward structure. You do not need to design anything twice — one design session produces passes for both platforms, saving you time and ensuring brand consistency across all customer devices.
Universal Link
The same QR code and enrollment link works for both Apple and Android customers. Revio detects the device type when a customer scans or clicks, and delivers the correct pass format automatically. This means you only need one QR code printed at your counter, one link on your website, and one code on your receipts — no need to manage separate enrollment flows for different platforms.
Save to Wallet
Android users tap "Save to Google Wallet" and the pass is stored alongside their payment cards and transit passes. The save process takes one tap after the initial preview. Google Wallet is pre-installed on most Android phones running Android 6.0 and above, and for the small percentage of devices without it, users are prompted to install the free app from the Play Store.
Unified Experience
Staff use the same Revio scanner app for all customers regardless of platform. The scanning process is identical — point the camera at the QR code, confirm the action, and the pass updates. There is no need for staff to know or care whether a customer has an iPhone or Android. This unified approach keeps training simple and checkout fast, even during peak hours.
